Solitaire Scoring:
Five points per
move:
-
Exposing new cards in the tableau: Each time you turn up a
new card in the tableau, you earn five points.
-
Moving cards from the deck to the tableau: Each time you move
a card from your hand (deck) to the tableau, you earn five points.
Ten points per
move:
-
Moving cards from the tableau to the foundation: Each time
you move a card from the tableau stacks to the suit stacks, you earn ten
points.
-
Moving cards from the deck to the foundation: Each time
you move a card from the deck directly to the foundation, you earn ten
points.
How to lose points in
Solitaire:
-
When you move cards from the foundations (suit stacks) back down
to the tableau, you lose fifteen points. This makes a "net loss" of five
points, since you got ten points for moving the card up to the
foundation.
-
You may not realize it, but you also end up with a net loss of five
points if you move a card directly from the deck to the foundations, when
you could have also moved it to the tableau. This happens because you earn
five points moving from deck to tableau, and you earn ten points going from
tableau to foundation. You only earn ten points when you move directlly from
deck to foundation.
